  How One Girl's Story Sparked a Movement: The Journey of the Deborah Foundation When Deborah was born in 2008, her family was filled with love,   but also questions. She was diagnosed with Down syndrome, a condition that remains widely misunderstood across much of Africa. In Ethiopia, families like hers often face a harsh reality like   stigma, isolation, and a lack of proper medical and educational support.             Deborah's early life wasn't easy. She underwent two surgeries and spent six long months in an ICU, connected to oxygen, fighting for her life.
